The Bobby G. Bizzell Innovative Achievement Award recognizes business programs that have demonstrated innovative excellence. Submissions may relate to any aspect of business programs, such as curriculum design, teaching, program development, outreach, or administration.
The winner of the 2025 Bizzell Award, which was presented on June 9 in Santa Fe, was the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University for their program, "Fostering Holistic Development and Belonging in First-Year Pre-Business Students: A Peer Leader Program."
Submissions for the 2026 Bizzell Award are now being accepted from member institutions--the deadline is April 1. The invitation letter and instructions are available here.
The Southwestern Business Deans' Association (SWBDA) began as a group of deans from business schools in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, and was established for the purpose of promoting and improving collegiate business education generally located in the southwestern region of the United States and Mexico. We now have members from several other states as well.
